Drawing a blank

I can post, Lizzy but I can't insert an image with Netscape. I'll try IE tomorrow.

It seems I can edit too.    Response time seem very sluggish to me.

Rumsfeld painting star attraction at exhibition

A painting entitled "Picnic" by artist Muayad Muhsin, who was both inspired and enraged by a photo of Donald H. Rumsfeld slumped on an airplane seat with his army boots up in front of him, was displayed in Baghdad on June 5. The painting is expected to be unveiled at an exhibition in Baghdad next week.

"It symbolized America’s soulless might and arrogance,” said Muhsin. "Rumsfeld’s boots deliver a message from America: ‘We rule the world,”’ Muhsin, 41, told The Associated Press in an interview. “It speaks of America’s total indifference to what the rest of the world thinks.”

How Sweet it is when…

Congressional candidate John Hall came a step closer to winning the Democratic nomination in the race to unseat Republican Sue Kelly with a solid victory at last night’s Dutchess County Democratic Convention. Hall got 3601 votes – 81% of the total.

Hall said the enthusiastic response to his message means that the people are motivated to win this election. “People are waking up, rolling up their sleeves and coming out to do what needs to be done to get this country back on track.” He said. “Big things are going to happen for us this year.”

The win in Dutchess is the latest in a series of momentum building events for Hall’s campaign. After another landslide win in Orange County, Hall recently raised a significant amount of money at musical events with Jackson Browne, Pete Seeger and Dar Williams.

Hall was also joined recently by top national fundraising strategist Bob Doyle. Doyle – the founder and president of Sutter’s Mill Fundraising & Strategy – is a veteran fundraiser and has worked in many high profile Democratic campaigns.

Happy Belated Birthday to Karen!

(who, in typical Eeyore fashion, had her birthday overlooked.)

"After all, what are birthdays? Here today and gone tomorrow."
~Eeyore

"Why, what's the matter?"

"Nothing Pooh Bear, nothing. We can't all, and some of us don't. That's all there is to it"

"Can't all what?" said Pooh, rubbing his nose.

"Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush."

"Oh!" said Pooh. He thought for a long time, and then asked, "What mulberry bush is that?"

"Bon-hommy," went on Eeyore gloomily. "French word for meaning bonhommy," he explained. "I'm not complaining, but There It Is."
